The Fairbury Community Foundation (FCF) recently received funds from Black Hills Energy and Bayer that will be used for the backpack program through FCF.
Right, Johnna Austin presented Don Cook of FCF with a check for $2,500 for the backpack program. Austin learned of the Bayer/Monsanto program through Channel Seed about the America’s Farmers Grow Communities program.
Black Hills Energy (above) presented Patty Smith of FCF with a check for $750 last week to help with the backpack program.
Black Hills Energy employees also helped deliver school supplies locally to help students get the school year off with needed supplies. Students at Fairbury and Meridian received items through the program. Helping from Black Hills were Ryan Stapaules, Thomas Rickley, Josh Minge, Shawn Morgan.
